Victoria Film Festival – Don’t Miss “Return to the Forest”
Guest Blog: The Victoria Film Festival is staring this weekend! For those of you that haven’t heard about it, the Victoria Film Festival screens films from around the world exposing our community to a wide range of ideas and inspires individuals to recognize film as a creative tool.
“Return to the Forest” an Award-Winning Documentary
This year we are happy to announce the award-winning 30-minute documentary “Return to the Forest”, directed by Victoria-based filmmaker Patricia Sims and narrated by William Shatner has been selected to screen at the Festival.
“Return to the Forest” is the story of the Elephant Reintroduction Foundation and its mission to return captive elephants back into the wild. The documentary brings attention to the plight of endangered Asian elephants and the vital role of elephants in the forest ecosystem.
World Elephant Day
It asks us to consider our role in the protection of elephants and their habitat throughout the world. It was first released on August 12, 2012, the launch of the first ever World Elephant Day, an international campaign to raise awareness of the plight of elephants.
The screening will be February 7th, 2013
